Developed in 1977 by Henry Grossbard. Many radiant cuts are cut with nearly square shapes, but always have clipped corners. Intended be refractive like a brilliant but from an emerald cut shape. |

Heart shaped brilliants are similar to pear shapes, the reason cutters may choose a Heart shape over a Pear may be that the rough diamond contained an inclusion located in the cleft. |

Trillian and other variations of this more modern cut are based upon a brilliant style cut and make excellet side stones in larger designs. Some have rounded edges. |
